Jetpack 5.6.1 – the new version of Jetpack was released last week and brought some serious security updates, bug fixes, and other enhancements along with it.

The previous version of Jetpack, Jetpack 5.5 was released in November with many improvements. And this time, Jetpack 5.6.2 has focused on increasing the security of the Contact Form, extending the limit on characters to 280, fixing a bug that disables “saving” widgets, and other small enhancements.

The new version of Jetpack has included extra security to the Contact Form module by improving permissions checking when updating a form’s settings.

Moreover to the security fixes, the development team has also extended the limit on character count to 280 for the Publicize feature when posting to Twitter.

Also, Jetpack 5.6.1 has fixed a bug that disabled “saving” widgets when removing a widget visibility rule.

All the Jetpack users are strongly recommended to update as soon as possible, especially if you make heavy use of the Contact Form module.
