The second release candidate – WordPress 4.9.8 Release Candidate 2 has been released and is now available for testing.
WordPress users are requested to try this release candidate and report any issues to ensure that WordPress 4.9.8 fixes the reported issues.
As mentioned on the first release candidate post, the testing of the first RC shortly after it was built, uncovered a serious bug in the “Try Gutenberg” callout and the second RC would be released as soon as the developers fix the bug.
However, shortly after RC1 was released, it was determined that the problem reported in that ticket was the result of a bug in the Classic Editor Plugin and not in the “Try Gutenberg” callout. Therefore, WordPress 4.9.8 Release Candidate 2 was released to address a few other issues with the callout.
This package contains 1 blessed task and 2 bug fixes since the first release candidate. The total number of bug fixes in 4.9.8 has reached 28, and the enhancements and the blessed tasks have reached the number 13 and 3, respectively.
