Who’s excited for WordPress 5.3 to arrive? What’s more exciting is that the major update is going to introduce a brand new default WordPress theme, aptly named, Twenty Twenty.

Gutenberg definitely has been the most talked about the topic since it first appeared on WordPress 5.0. The only motive Gutenberg carries is to ease users while building a website the way they want and help them design the content as they like. Developers are looking forward to introducing blocks even outside the content areas as well, which is quite awesome. So, in order to give freedom to users to customize and design the website easily, WordPress 5.3 is introducing a new default WordPress theme, Twenty Twenty.

Anders Norén is leading the Twenty Twenty theme design, Ian Belanger is taking charge in of development, and Poena is representing the Theme Review Team.

Like any other theme released by WordPress, Twenty Twenty default WordPress theme is also clean, simple, and visually aesthetic. With a simple and minimal outlook, the theme provides extreme flexibility at its core. You can use the default theme for a wide range of website types; from simple blogs to professional websites, and from photography to eCommerce websites. The theme fits flawlessly for all. Twenty Twenty theme comes with full Gutenberg support. The theme includes both front and back-end styles. With that, you will be able to present your website’s appearance elegantly. The versatile layout options and content-centered features make it an ideal default theme to date.

The new default theme is based on Chaplin, another WordPress theme from WordPress.org theme repo.

WordPress 5.3 Release is slated for November 12, 2019. Similarly, the first Release Candidate is getting ready for its release on 15th October.
