Yoast SEO 8.1 Released Including the Gutenberg-Proof Snippet Preview

Yoast SEO 8.1

The new version of Yoast SEO plugin, Yoast SEO 8.1 was released yesterday introducing the Gutenberg part 2 with the Snippet Preview.

The previous update, 8.0 introduced Gutenberg Sidebar Integration and an enhanced MetaBox to its users. This time, in Yoast SEO 8.1, the team has introduced a Gutenberg-proof snippet preview and a better content experience for the users.

Yoast SEO 8.1: Gutenberg Part-2, the Yoast SEO Snippet Preview

Yoast SEO 8.0 was released without a snippet preview inside the Gutenberg as there were still some kinks to iron out before the team could add the snippet preview. And now, the Yoast SEO 8.1 update has included the Gutenberg-proof snippet preview popup in order to ease out the work for its users.

It is similar to the regular Yoast SEO snippet preview and has all the features—SEO title field editor with snippet variables, slug editor and meta descriptions with snippet variables—as well.

To open the snippet preview, simply click on the Snippet Preview button in the Yoast SEO Gutenberg sidebar.

Gutenberg has introduced the new Primary Category picker that lets you make and set the primary category for a post. The primary category will be automatically selected whenever you make a new post. The feature has been a staple for many years in Yoast SEO. The Yoast team will port more features over to Gutenberg shortly.

With these updates related to Gutenberg sidebar in Yoast SEO 8.1, the team is looking forward to adding more features in future updates.

Speeding up the Content Analysis

The new update has added a dedicated webworker to keep up the performance of Yoast SEO plugin. Webworkers let you run a script in the background without affecting the performance of the page. The webworkers are very powerful and helps in the stability of the plugin and are responsive and fast even when analyzing pages with thousands of words of content.

Yoast SEO 8.1 also includes a lot of “under the hood” improvements that would help in enhancing the plugin’s functionality.
