In the loving memory of Ujjwal Thapa, one of the co-founders of WordPress Nepal, the WCKTM team is giving away full-fledged scholarships. Ujjwal Thapa Scholarship Tickets for WordCamp Kathmandu 2022 will be given to 5 eligible attendees who want to attend the event but unfortunately cannot afford the ticket.
June 1, 2022, marked the 1 year of Mr. Thapa’s untimely demise, and to honor his work and dedication to WordPress Nepal, the WCKTM has decided to give away the tickets to a few attendees.
As mentioned above, Ujjwal was one of the co-founders of the WordPress Nepal Community and had a huge impact on building this community. His initiations and visions have impacted a lot and helped in the growth of our WP Nepal family. From only three people with vision (Ujjwal Thapa, Chandra Maharzan, and Sakin Shrestha) to building a whole community of more than 8,000, Ujjwal Thapa has had a huge impact on this journey of growth. And today, most youths across the whole nation are familiar with WordPress. Ujjwal Thapa’s tireless efforts to bring WordPress to Nepal have now brought countless new opportunities and employment to many youths in Nepal. We all, who are working in WordPress, owe him a little of our career as he was one of the co-founders who introduced us to WordPress.
So, in order to honor his work and dedication to WordPress, the WCKTM has decided to provide 5 WordCamp Kathmandu 2022 Scholarship Tickets. Eligible attendees will be able to claim the scholarship tickets once the team releases the tickets in the coming days. The Ujjwal Thapa Scholarship tickets will be full fledge tickets for the two-day event.
After the cancellation of WCKTM 2020 and 2021 due to an unavoidable outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19 in the country, the WordCamp Kathmandu team is back with this year’s WordCamp Kathmandu 2022. WordCamp Kathmandu 2022 is happening on the 3rd and 4th of September 2022. The venue for the conference is yet to be decided.
