For Episode 4 of WordCamp Europe 2019 Interview Series, DevotePress sat down with Andrew Taylor, a developer programs engineer. He was one of the amazing speakers at WCEU2019. He works for Pantheon and provides consulting to their agency partners around complex workflows and automation.
At WordCamp Europe 2019, Andrew conducted a workshop on visual regression testing where he used some of the new technologies like “headless browser/chrome”. He showed the attendees what visual regression testing does, how it takes screenshots of two different environments, and how it can help in reducing your work.
In this interview, Andrew talks about his WordPress journey, his workshop at WCEU2019, visual regression testing, how he thinks the future of WordPress looks like, and more.
Andrew is very positive about Visual Regression testing. He says, “Visual Regression is just one kind of testing; there are many as well. We need to explore automation and tools. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but after you get over that, you’re saving all of these hours you spend every week. It’s really worth the effort.”
Apart from his regular work, he loves spending time with nature. He loves camping, hiking, trekking, and biking.
DevotePress would like to thank Andrew Taylor for taking out time and sitting with us for this interview.
