He has made many contributions in WordPress community of Japan as a Developer and Graphic Designer. He talked about how did the WordPress community grew in Japan at WordCamp Kathmandu 2018. We had a little chat with him at the event.
When did you get started with WordPress?
I started using WordPress around 2006. Ever since then, I have been working with WordPress.
What do you like most about WordCamps?
You get to know a lot of different people with different cultures here. WordCamps bring in all the WordPress lovers together under one roof and that is what I like most about it. It is all about networking and meeting new people.
What do you hope attendees will take away from your talk today?
I hope beginners in WordPress community, not only in Japan but also people from other nations will get a chance to know more about WordPress community in Japan and enjoy WordPressing.
Could you tell us something about the WordPress community in Japan?
Over the past 11 years, Japanese WordPress communities have grown steadily. Over the past seven years, Japan has hosted 15 WordCamps in Tokyo, Kyoto, Fukuoka, Yokohama Nagoya, Kobe, and Osaka. For the year 2018, WordCamp Osaka is going to be held on 2nd and 3rd of June, and WordCamp Ogijima on 15th of July.
How have you been contributing or giving back to the community?
I have always been contributing to the community through WordCamps and meetups back home by sharing my knowledge and experiences in the field of WordPress.
Why do you think it is important to give back to the community?
WordPress has given something to all of us and I feel that it’s our responsibility to give back to the community as well. I feel that each one in the WordPress community is our friend and it is very important that you help a friend in need. Spreading your knowledge or anything that you know in the WordPress field can come in handy for someone. So, I think helping our friends/coworkers is never a bad option.
How do you stay updated on WordPress?
I follow a few blogs. I don’t have a lot of time to research so I stay updated with WordPress by connecting with people related to WordPress via Facebook or Twitter.
What can we find you doing when you’re not WordPressing?
When I am done with my work, I like to go for a walk with my wife and my pet dog. And my other hobby is to play games which I’m not that good at.
What advice would you like to give to a new WordPress user?
For the people who are interested in WordPress, give it a try, explore it, and enjoy. It’s all very easy to learn and the WordPress community is very friendly. You can also visit my homepage; it can be helpful.
Gutenberg Editor will be the next big thing in WordPress this year. How excited are you about it?
As some of us are familiar with old-classic editors, it will be really confusing to use it at first. Apart from that, I am really excited and looking forward to the Gutenberg Editor. It will leave a big and good impact in the WordPress community.

I adore WP! I think it is a really easy CMS. I create all my sites on WP. I tried Tilda, but it is not my cup of tea
