WordCamp Pokhara 2020 Canceled

After WordPress officially announced that all in-person regional WordCamps will be canceled until 2022, the WordPress Pokhara community has also canceled its local WordCamp for this year. WordCamp Pokhara 2020 has been canceled due to the ongoing Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

Lately, we’ve been witnessing a rise in the COVID-19 cases in Nepal. And at a time like this, it is best for everyone that we stay at home and avoid going to public places unless absolutely necessary. Similarly, our WordPress Pokhara community also prioritized the community’s health above everything else. So, they have taken this difficult decision of canceling WordCamp Pokhara 2020.

In the official cancelation post, it was mentioned that the WordCamp Pokhara organizers will be planning something special for WordCamp Pokhara 2021 next year if things go back to normal.

“As the pandemic has meant that it’s vital to limit social contact and avoid gathering, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the event. While we know this is disappointing, we hope you can understand the steps we’re taking to help ensure the safety of all WordCamp attendees.”

We also hope everything goes back to normal soon and we get to experience WordCamp Pokhara in person. Until then, stay safe, everyone!
