The biggest WordPress conference in the US, WordCamp US 2022 is all ready to take place on Sep 9-11, 2022 in San Diego. The organizers are working really hard to make the event grand and successful. It is going to be a three-day event, two days are the official WordPress conference day and one is Contributor Day.
WordCamp US 2022 Contributor Day is taking place on the last day of the event, i.e. 11 September 2022 in the Pacific Ballroom at the Town and Country Resort and will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (-7 UTC).
Contributor Day is a day that is designed to give attendees an opportunity to give back to the WordPress community. On the contributor day, different teams will participate and will work on different parts of the project. There are many teams and one can contribute through writing, coding, documenting, and troubleshooting. It is a brilliant opportunity for everyone, especially newbies to learn new things on Contributor Day. You will find many talented people with whom you can learn new things and grow.
As mentioned in the past, increasing the contributor community of the WordPress project is a focus. The WordCamp US 2022 site now has more information about contributor day, including information about how participants might prepare in advance.
You can participate with a single team for the whole day, or spend your time between multiple teams. Whatever path you choose, there is something for everyone, of all ability levels, to participate in.
What should I bring in Contributor Day?
Laptop – You’ll need to be able to access the Make WordPress Slack instance and the team’s online-based onboarding materials.
Name Badge – You’ll need your name badge to enter the ballroom, or be able to show your VOW clearance on your smartphone.
If you want to contribute to the design, core, or meta teams then you need to set up a local development server. So, we recommend Varying Vagrant Vagrants (VVV). Here are some setup instructions that will help you to set that up. But if you’re not able to setup by your own, someone can help during the contributor day.

You do not need to pay extra to participate in WCUS2022 Contributor Day. However, registration is compulsory for the event.
